Portland Chapter CFMA Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Enroll in an eligible Oregon/SW Washington College or University as a full-time student.
  • Enroll in either a Bachelors or advanced degree program in finance, accounting, or construction management or have a declared finance, accounting, or construction management major.
  • Demonstrate a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

All applications must be submitted by April 16, 2018.

How to Apply

  • Complete the application found online.
  • Submit a 300-word essay that demonstrates the applicant’s relationship to the construction industry and/or how the construction industry impacts the economy.
  • Submit a current transcript for the Colleges or Universities attended thus far.
  • Submit your current resume.
  • Submit 2 letters of recommendations, with one academic and one from the business community (letters cannot be from a member of the applicant’s immediate family).

Surgent CPA Review Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a current student at an accredited college or university within the U.S.
  • Applicants must be studying to work in accounting or finance
  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

How to Apply

  • Complete the online application.
  • Write an essay (1,000 words or less) on the following topic:
    • In your own words, describe the differences between management accounting and financial accounting, as well as why both are crucial to a successful business?

George Washington Carver Scholarship Fund

Eligibility

  • Leadership Ability, dependable, forty hours minimum volunteer work.
  • Must attend an historically black college or university (HBCU).
  • Documentation of financial need (complete financial aid/status form in application).
  • Must provide documentation of official enrollment in an approved field, or dual major in one of the following:
    • Accounting
    • Agri-business
    • Aquaculture Science
    • Biology
    • Business
    • Chemistry
    • Communication
    • Computer Science
    • Economics
    • Education
    • Engineering
    • Nursing
    • Physics
    • Pre-Law
    • Pre-Med
    • Public Administration
  • All applicants must participate in a personal interview before receiving a scholarship.
  • All applicants must reapply each year.
  • Applicant must participate in both RADIOTHONS (dates to be determined).

More Details

  • Must provide a typed detailed statement of why you are applying for a scholarship and what formal goals you plan to accomplish.
  • Describe in a brief, typed paragraph some experience or responsibility you have had in the community.
  • A self-photograph must be attached with application (wallet size is sufficient).
