2018 Straight North STEM Scholarship

Eligibility

To qualify, undergraduate or graduate students must be majoring in a STEM field of study, and attending an accredited college or university.

Applications must be completed by August 1, 2018. Winners will be announced August 15, 2018.

  • To apply, please complete the form found on the website.
  • Through the Straight North STEM Scholarship, we award the winning student $1,000 to be used toward his or her degree.
  • We award $250 book scholarships to the two runners-up.

Ameri Care Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Open to all full-time college students currently enrolled in an accredited public or private college or university.
  • Applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • All bachelor and master’s degrees with majors and minors in Science are eligible such as Environmental Science, Environmental Policy and Management, Horticulture, or Environmental Studies.
  • Other science programs not listed will be considered and reviewed by our selection committee.
  • Applicant must be able to provide an official letter of acceptance or an unofficial college transcript to prove current full-time enrollment.

How to Apply

  • Submit an essay (no more than 500 words) on the following topic:
    • Explain how our scholarship and your current degree program will help you become successful and what that success will mean for you and/or your career goals.

Fence Authority Scholarship

Eligibility

  • All applicants must currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s (or Baccalaureate) Degree related to a profession that is dedicated to improving the beautification of US communities, such as  Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, and Environmental and Marine Sciences.
  • Applicants must be currently accepted into a program and must currently hold or anticipate holding a high school diploma or GED within the 2018-2019 school year.
  • Applicants must be currently involved or recently involved (within one year of date of application) in their community, either through school programs or voluntary programs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

    • Why you chose your major and how you plan to use it to help the community.

Navajo Tribal Utility Authority Scholarship

Eligibility

  • The student is:
    • High School Graduate or expects to graduate high school by the date of enrollment at college or university; or
    • High-school equivalent certificate holder or expects to receive a high-school equivalent certificate by the date of enrollment at college or university; or
    • Currently attending college or university with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00 or above for Undergraduate work, or a 3.00 or above for Graduate work.
  • The student is enrolled in a field of study related to the multi-service utility industry ((e.g. business, management, administration, accounting, engineering [electrical, civil, or environmental], environment, or information technology).
  • The student is enrolled as Full-Time status, defined as:
    • Twelve (12) or more Credit Hours per semester for Undergraduate degree programs; or
    • Nine (9) or more Credit Hours per semester for Graduate degree programs; or
    • Other amount of credit hours determined by student’s college or university as Full-Time status.
  • The student maintains a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00 or above for Undergraduate work, or a 3.00 or above for Graduate work.

    • Letter of Interest (Standard business letter stating your interest in the scholarship and a description of how your degree aligns with multi-service utility industry.)
    • Letter of Acceptance or Admission to College or University
    • Official sealed High School or College or University Transcripts
    • Official Certificate of Indian Blood (green, embossed certificate)

NSHSS STEM Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Open to students studying in a STEM field, including computer science
  • Underrepresented minority background
  • High School senior
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrates a desire in any area of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics are eligible

Society of Exploration Geophysics Foundation

Eligibility

  • Must be a high school senior planning to attend college next year or an undergraduate or graduate college student
  • Must have above average grades
  • Must be intending to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics

  • Students must include current transcripts
  • Must include email addresses for two faculty members who have agreed to serve as references
