LedsMaster’s LED Lighting Scholarship for College Students 2018-2019

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students in Science, Engineering, Environment, and related disciplines.
  • Studying in College, exchange students are welcome.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.7

How to Apply

  • Write an essay (500 word minimum) on one of the following topics:
    • Advantages of using LED lights over metal halide, high pressure sodium, mercury vapor, and halogen lamps.
    • The Future trend of LED lighting for residential, commercial and industrial use.
    • Application of LED flood light (Hints: indoor and outdoor large areas).
    • Solar powered lighting nowadays (Hints: Street lighting and sports lighting).
    • Electric cars are the unprecedented invention in recent years, what other innovative measure can we take to move away from coal and fossil fuel energy?
    • What is light pollution? And how to solve it?

ExtremeTerrain’s Student Scholarships

Eligibility

  • Students who are pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Research, Land Use, Earth & Atmosphere Studies, Sustainable Land Management, Parks and Recreation, Sustainable Agriculture Systems.
  • Previous winners who are still eligible may submit a new essay that follows the same criteria.
  • Limit one essay per student each semester

All applications must be submitted by 12:00 PM EST on October 15, 2018.

How to Apply

  • Proof of enrollment is required along with submission.
  • Students should submit a 700 – 1500 word essay that describes who you are, why you feel it is important to maintain access to public lands for recreational use and how you plan to use your degree to advocate for the recreational use of public lands
  • Essays should be submitted as a PDF or Microsoft Word document to scholarships@extremeterrain.com

Ameri Care Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Open to all full-time college students currently enrolled in an accredited public or private college or university.
  • Applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • All bachelor and master’s degrees with majors and minors in Science are eligible such as Environmental Science, Environmental Policy and Management, Horticulture, or Environmental Studies.
  • Other science programs not listed will be considered and reviewed by our selection committee.
  • Applicant must be able to provide an official letter of acceptance or an unofficial college transcript to prove current full-time enrollment.

All applications must be submitted by July 31, 2018.

How to Apply

  • Submit an essay (no more than 500 words) on the following topic:
    • Explain how our scholarship and your current degree program will help you become successful and what that success will mean for you and/or your career goals.

Society of Exploration Geophysics Foundation

Eligibility

  • Must be a high school senior planning to attend college next year or an undergraduate or graduate college student
  • Must have above average grades
  • Must be intending to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics

All applications must be submitted by March 1, 2018. Winners announced mid-June 2018.

How to Apply

  • Students must include current transcripts
  • Must include email addresses for two faculty members who have agreed to serve as references
  • Submit your application online
