Creative Soul Music School Scholarship


  • High School Seniors, Undergraduate students and Graduate Students
  • Must be a Music Major.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • United States residents.

How to Apply:

  • Complete the scholarship application found on the scholarships website.
  • Answer the following questions in the form of a short essay (500 word maximum)
    • How do you feel the impact of music education in our families and society has changed from the classical period to our modern age and culture?
    • What challenges do music learning students, parents, and families face today to make their music education a value?
    • Please share a story of a time that your music education or experiences created a special memory for you or your family.

Society Awards Scholarship



  1. Must be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S.
  2. Must be a high school senior or a college student currently enrolled full time at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year college/university
  3. Must be a full time student seeking an associate, bachelor or master degree as of the upcoming academic calendar year and must also be pursuing a major in the visual/performing arts (film, theatre, fashion, photography, graphic design, dance, music, journalism, mass communications, etc)
  4. Demonstrated leadership through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities
  5. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on 4.0 scale (unweighted)
  6. Family members of the Board are ineligible


The 2020 Society Awards Scholarship is open from October 25, 2019 through January 15, 2020.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm EST on January 15th, 2020.
Three scholarships will be awarded as follows:

Highest ranked application — $2,500.00
Second highest ranked application — $1,000.00
Third highest ranked application — $500.00

Judging will be conducted within 90 days of scholarship close.
All applications will be judged after close of entry period.



Selection is based on a rating system judged in four major categories. The candidate with the highest combined cumulative points will receive the scholarship. The categories are:

  1. Quality of submitted content, including:
    1. Essay of 500-650 words addressing the following prompt: how have art and/or design meaningfully influenced your world?
    2. Portfolio of your work as either a PDF (15mb max) or web link (if password protected, please provide)
  2. Academic performance
  3. Leadership/community service experience and contribution – expressed as a brief written summary or resumé
  4. Letters of recommendation
