Western Association of Food & Drug Officials 2020 J. Jos Campioni $2,000 Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Eligible candidates will be  individuals who have demonstrated a desire to serve in a career relating to environmental health science, food science, drugs, pharmacology, cosmetics or medical devices, who attends a college or university in any of the states or provinces represented by WAFDO listed below:
    • Alaska
    • California
    • Montana
    • Utah
    • Saipan
    • Alberta
    • Colorado
    • Nevada
    • Washington
    • Arizona
    • Hawaii
    • New Mexico
    • Wyoming
    • British Columbia
    • Idaho
    • Oregon
    • Guam
  • Only juniors and seniors at a college or university in WAFDO-represented states or provinces are eligible to apply.

How to Apply:

Completed applications include the following:

  • A one-page (typed) biographical sketch and a statement regarding your choice of major and future career plans
  • A copy of your official and complete college transcript, a pdf copy may be sent if applying by email
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Completed information below

2020 WAFDO Scholarship Application

 

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship- Baccalaureate Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • RESIDENCY
    • Be a Washington state resident as defined by state Legislature (RCW 28B.15.012).
    • Earn a high school diploma or GED from a Washington state institution by June of the year of application.
  • FINANCIAL NEED
  • ACADEMIC RECORD
    • A cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of application date of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale), demonstrated on either a current college or high school transcript; OR
    • A passing GED score, demonstrated on an official score report.
  • ENROLLMENT PLAN
    • Plan to pursue an eligible science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or health care major as defined on the eligible majors list.
    • Plan to enroll at an eligible Washington state institution for the fall term following selection as defined on the list of eligible college and universities.
    • Plan to enroll at least half-time (six or more credits) every term. Scholars are not expected to enroll in nor does WSOS fund summer term.
  • PREVIOUS EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
    • Do not yet have a bachelor’s degree.
    • Applicant must currently be a:
      • High school senior or graduate (high school equivalency)
      • College freshman or college sophomore. If the applicant has completed any college terms or college credits post high-school, they must meet either the maximum term OR maximum credit requirement stated below:
        1. Maximum Terms Completed: The applicant must have completed no more than six quarters or four semesters of college at the end of the current academic year; OR
        2. Maximum Credits Earned: The applicant must have earned no more than 90 quarter or 60 semester credits at the end of the current academic year

Application Process

Interested applicants must complete the entire application process. Applicants must:

  1. Complete all application sections via the Scholarship Application Portal and click “Submit” by the application deadline.
  2. Mail a copy of your transcript or GED scores to WSOS c/o Baccalaureate Scholarship at this address: 1414 31st Ave S., Suite 302, Seattle, WA 98144.
  3. Submit the FAFSA or WASFA for the relevant academic year by the deadline on the application timeline.

The application will require approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Applicants may start the application, save progress and return to complete it later up until the application deadline. Applicants should know what college they expect to attend and what major they intend to complete before beginning their application.

SingleCare $3,000 Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Any student enrolled (or will be enrolled by application deadline) in this upcoming fall semester at any accredited medical school MD program, pharmacy school graduate program, or doctor of pharmacy program within the US.

  • Write a 500-800 word essay that addresses the prompt and answer the questions below:
    • Give a brief introduction of yourself and your current medical or pharmacy program.
    • What has led you to where you are now?
    • What has been your number one motivation for completing your chosen medical or pharmacy program?
    • What does your ideal career look like?
    • If you were to look 30 years into the future, what would you like to have accomplished?
  • Complete the online application.

Betty K. Adams MD Endowed Health Sciences Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate sophomore; junior or senior considered if no sophomore applications
  • Minimum GPA 3.5
  • Preference given to
  • Major in Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dental, Nursing or Pharmacy
  • Demonstrated high financial need
  • Washington state students
  • Students who’s intent is to serve undeserved populations

  • Complete a WSU General Scholarship Application on or before Jan 31st
  • Renewable with satisfactory academic progress

Laser Spine Institute Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Prove full-time enrollment during the spring and/or summer semester with a school transcript no older than January 1.
  • Intend to continue a full-time enrollment status in the fall semester. Proof of enrollment or acceptance to new school must be provided.
  • Currently have a minimum 3.5 GPA at a university or college.
  • Be seeking a degree in a health- or science-based program, with an interest in pursuing a career in health care.
  • Have an active .edu email address for the university or college they attend.

  • Submit a 750- to 1,000-word essay on the assigned topic:
    • What do you feel are the three most critical issues facing the health care industry today and what ideas would you put into place to help address them?

Body Gear Guide Scholarship Program

Eligibility

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in Fall (of the current year) or Spring (of the following year).
  • Must be at least 18 years old (at the time of disbursement)
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or Canada
  • Must be enrolled in an academic program in a healthcare or Engineering related field

USA Medical and Surgical Supplies Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Student must be actively enrolled in a College or University studying one of the following: medicine, therapy, emergency medical services, laboratory sciencem edical technology, nursing, health care, pathology, radiology, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, psychiatry, psychology, social sciences, or another health related area
  • All applicants must submit an official transcript or Certification of Enrollment that validates current enrollment
  • Must have a valid email address

How to Apply

  • Submit an essay (1200+ words) on the following topic:
    • How medical supplies or medical equipment has the biggest impact on healing, improving, or extending human lives. The topics could range from how specific equipment helps provide better diagnostics, or modern infection control allows reuse of important medical instruments, or how enteral feeding pumps provide accurate, reliable nutrition to humans of all ages.
