Alford & Clark Injury Attorneys Students in Need Scholarship

At Alford & Clark Injury Attorneys, we fiercely advocate for victims of personal injuries across the state of Texas from our headquarters in San Antonio. While contending with giant insurance companies and corporations, we strive to provide compassionate and intelligent service to each of our clients. In short, we treat each case like it is our only case.

Our team spends nights and weekends working to obtain just outcomes for our clients, and we have a deep appreciation for dedication, determination, and hard work. Through our Alford & Clark Injury Attorneys Students in Need Scholarship, we aim to promote those ideals by supporting students who have overcome obstacles and demonstrated a need for financial assistance.

Therefore, we award scholarships of $2,000 in the Fall and Spring semesters to qualified students interested in a career in law who can demonstrate the need for financial assistance.

This opportunity is available to students with a need for financial assistance and an annual family income of under $50,000 who meet the following criteria:

  1. Student has an interest in a career in law and is pursuing a degree in pre-law or humanities (such as government, philosophy, or English).
  2. Student is either a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  3. Student is enrolled at an accredited college or university for the upcoming semester.

All applications must also include a video submission of 1 to 2 minutes in length answering the following question: Imagine you have graduated college and have begun your career in the legal field. How will you use your skills to help others who are in need?

H&S Legal Scholarship

Eligibility

  • US citizen,
  • Accepted to and attending an accredited undergraduate or law school in the Fall of 2023
  • At least a 3.0 GPA

  • 500-1,000 word essay about what you hope to achieve in your legal career

Legal Focus Scholarship

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is offered to high school Juniors and Seniors, as well as any student currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States.
  • The scholarship candidate must possess an interest in studying U.S. law. This interest may be demonstrated by relevant life experiences, past and/or present volunteer experiences, educational experiences, and/or professional experience.
  • The scholarship candidate must be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

To be considered for this scholarship, please submit the following documentation:

  • A current resume
  • A current unofficial transcript from the applicant’s high school or college.
  • An essay (1,000 word limit) responding to one of these prompts:
  1.  U.S. family law judges are bound to resolve child custody disputes according to the “best interests of the child” standard. If a married couple, seeking a divorce, came to you for assistance and asked you how they should go about building a co-parenting agreement (shared custody) that reflected the “best interests of the child” standard, how would you advise them?
  2.  The idea that an individual is “innocent until proven guilty” is sacred within the U.S. justice system. What are the virtues of building the strongest possible defense of an individual accused of criminal wrongdoing, even if you know or suspect that they are indeed guilty of the charges that have been levied against them?
  3. What inspires you to study law and what do you plan to do after pursuing your legally focused education?

Jon Friedman Law Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Accepted into a program at any U.S. school for Fall 2023
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • This scholarship application requires that students write an essay on a topic of their choice, related to an area of law that interests them. Essays should be between one and three pages in length.

Law Offices of Frank M. Nunes Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Pre-law undergraduate or a student entering law school, anywhere in the United States.
  • US Citizen or legal permanent resident

This scholarship application requires that students write an essay on a topic of their choice, related to a field of law that interests them. The length of the essay should be between one and three pages.

Eligibility

  • Hold a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Be accepted or attending a law school
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident who is authorized to work in the country

Interested students must submit a 1-3 page typed essay on the subject “Relentlessly protect the rights of the injured and disabled in California”.

ABC Law Centers Disability Advocacy Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Be enrolled at an institution of higher education in the United States (either as an undergraduate or graduate student).
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student planning to pursue a law or public policy career focused on disability advocacy

Describe your interest and/or your personal experience in disability advocacy. What does advocacy mean to you? How do you plan to incorporate disability advocacy into your career?

You may choose to submit one of the following as your response:

  • An essay of approximately 750 – 1,000 words. Please use 12 pt. Times New Roman font and double space your work. Also include your last name, page numbers, and the scholarship name in the header. Files must be in PDF format.
  • A creative project. Examples can include, but are not limited to: photo projects; video or other multimedia presentations (videos not to exceed five minutes); creative writing; or performance pieces.

Volunteer Service Law School Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Have a 3.0 GPA or better, as proven by submitting an unofficial transcript
  • Be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited law school
  • Submit an essay of no more than 750 words which pertains to the topic described below
  • Submit your essay via the form — no other submission methods are accepted
  • Have a demonstrable record of volunteerism
