Smart Start

The Smart Start Program (SSP) is a retention initiative under the guidance and support of the Office of Multicultural Student Services. It works to facilitate the successful transition and retention of students whom are first in their family to attend and graduate from a four-year university, during their first year on campus. Financial and academic support are included in this program.

First Scholars

The First Scholars Program supports first-generation college students and enhances their ability to successfully graduate. The program is open to incoming first-time, full-time freshmen whose parents did not attend college. Selected students receive personalized support and a scholarship.

CAMP

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program designed to support students from migrant and seasonal farm-worker backgrounds during their freshman year in college. CAMP is specifically designed to identify, recruit, and monitor the academic achievement and retention of migrant students. The program provides eligible students with both financial and academic support.

Cougar Tops Program

The Cougar Transfer Orientation & Professional Success (TOPS) Program is a support services and scholarship program for new transfer students.

Academic Success & Career Center

The Academic Success and Career Center (ASCC) offers a number of services to assist you in your personal development and academic success including Academic and Career Advising, Academic Deficiency and Reinstatement, CougLink, Peer Tutoring, and a diverse variety of workshops.
