ECPG Student Research Grants and Scholarships

The Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling (ECPG) seeks to seed innovation through supporting student research and education in the fields of psychology, cognitive or behavioral sciences to address social issues as they apply to Gambling and Gaming Disorders in the following priority areas:

  • Addressing Gambling and Gaming Disorders as they impact at-risk and vulnerable populations
  • Understanding the connections between addictive behaviors and health
  • Understanding and eliminating stigma/intersectional stigmas and prejudice of Gambling and Gaming Disorders as Public Health issues (e.g., culture, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, age, disability, and socioeconomic status)
  • Special concerns of populations that have historically been underrepresented in research on Gambling and Gaming Disorders
  • Understanding connections between Gambling Disorder and Suicide

Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY

  • Undergraduate Psi Chi member
  • Enrolled in a psychology or psychology related major for the upcoming Fall 2023 semester
  • Have not previously received a Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship
  • Will be able to use the full $3,000 by June 30, 2023

PURPOSE
The Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarships help defray the direct educational costs (e.g., tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks, etc.) of exceptional Psi Chi undergraduate students.

BUDGET
Eight scholarships of $3,000 each are awarded annually for a total of $24,000.

DEADLINE
All applications are due to the application portal by June 26.

CRITERIA
Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship recipients are chosen based on Psi Chi activity, personal qualities consistent with Psi Chi’s Mission, financial need, and academic excellence.

Nectar Bath Treats Scholarship

At Nectar Bath Treats, we’re a firm believer that self care plays a large role in our mental health. With depression and anxiety rates growing every year, we understand that boosting our collective mental health can dramatically improve our society as a whole.

That’s why we have created a scholarship for highschool and college students across the United States. We’re committed to helping students in the field of psychology or social services by offering a $1,000 scholarship to help continue on the path to helping others struggling with mental health issues.

The deadline to apply is March 15th 2023.

Winner of the $1,000 scholarship will be announced on March 31, 2023 after all submissions have been reviewed by our team.

APF Graduate Student Scholarships

Eligibility

Candidates must be enrolled in an intrim master’s or a doctoral psychology program.

Application

The following materials must be included in the application (please use 12pt font):

  • A completed online application form.
  • A letter of recommendation (three-page maximum) from the nominee’s graduate research advisor, with original signature. On the online application form, there will be a space for you to enter your graduate advisor’s email address. He or she will receive a link to upload the letter.
  • A brief outline (three-page maximum; see review criteria below) of the nominee’s thesis or dissertation research project (even if in progress) along with titles and abstracts. Outlines may be single or double-spaced, margin sizes are at the discretion of each applicant, and the outline may be followed by up to two additional pages of references. We encourage you to use your best judgment on the format and content of your application, and to get your advisor’s feedback on a draft of the entire application packet before completing it.
  • A curriculum vitae (not to exceed five pages) and a transcript (an unofficial/student copy is acceptable) of all graduate coursework completed by the nominee.

Homelight Scholarship

Note: There are two upcoming deadlines for this scholarship (04/15/2022 and 12/01/2022), the posted deadline is for latter scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • Any legal U.S. resident in high school or college who will be attending an accredited university or college in Fall 2022/Spring 2023 is eligible to apply (see deadline information on scholarship webpage).

How to Apply:

  • To apply, please submit a short piece of writing, that includes the following:
    • Why are you interested in real estate?
    • How will your career help more people find their dream home?
    • What impact have you had on homes or homelessness in your community?

Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship

Who is eligible for a Student Scholarship?

Applicants to the Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship must:

  • Be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 united states, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico.

  • Be current high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate students who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.

  • Demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, and participation and leadership in school activities and work experience.

  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career and enrolled in the following majors: Athletic Training, Psychology, Biology, Kinesiology, Nursing, General Medicine, Dentistry, Behavioral Sciences, Personal Training, Physical Education Teaching and Coaching, Health and Physical Fitness, Exercise Science, Sports and Recreation Management, Health Sciences, Physical Therapist, or another health- related major.

When is the program open period?

  • Only the first 1,000 scholarship applications will be considered. If the program reaches 1,000 scholarship applications before the deadline date of August 1st, 2023, then the program will automatically close. Your scholarship application MUST be one of the first 1,000 submitted electronically.

How do I apply?

To begin, click on the Apply for a Scholarship link at the bottom of the scholarship providers website.

Within that Application you will need to write essays addressing the following questions

    • Describe your outstanding achievement in school. Maximum 500 words.
    • Describe your participation and leadership in school activities, the community, and work experiences. Maximum 1000 words
    • Pretend that you were recently hired by the government to develop new public policy to end diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. What factors contribute to these health problems? What specific steps will you take to overcome them? What obstacles do you foresee while trying to institute the new policy? Maximum 1500 words.
