AFWA Seattle Chapter Scholarship Application

1. Shall be either a part-time or full-time student, pursuing either an Associate’s of
Applied Science, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an
equivalent designated post-baccalaureate Certificate of Accounting or Finance.
2. Shall have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours within four
weeks of the application deadline.
3. Shall have maintained a minimum grade point average of 2.05 overall and 3.0 in
Accounting or Finance.
4. Shall be attending an accredited Washington State community college, college,
university or professional school of Accounting or Finance or be a Washington State
resident.
5. Need not be a member of Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance.

H&S Legal Scholarship

Eligibility

  • US citizen,
  • Accepted to and attending an accredited undergraduate or law school in the Fall of 2023
  • At least a 3.0 GPA

  • Resume
  • School Transcripts
  • Acceptance letter from an accredited undergraduate or law school
  • Copy of your birth certificate (or permanent residency card)
  • 500-1,000 word essay about what you hope to achieve in your legal career

Safety on the Road Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Current high school seniors, college students, and graduate students
  • Legal residents of the United States
  • Enrolled in a two- to a five-year post-secondary institution
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Good overall academic standing

To apply for the scholarship, you’ll need to submit an essay discussing your idea for improving road safety and the potential results of your proposed change.

 

Legal Focus Scholarship

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is offered to high school Juniors and Seniors, as well as any student currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program in the United States.
  • The scholarship candidate must possess an interest in studying U.S. law. This interest may be demonstrated by relevant life experiences, past and/or present volunteer experiences, educational experiences, and/or professional experience.
  • The scholarship candidate must be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

To be considered for this scholarship, please submit the following documentation:

  • A current resume
  • A current unofficial transcript from the applicant’s high school or college.
  • An essay (1,000 word limit) responding to one of these prompts:
  1.  U.S. family law judges are bound to resolve child custody disputes according to the “best interests of the child” standard. If a married couple, seeking a divorce, came to you for assistance and asked you how they should go about building a co-parenting agreement (shared custody) that reflected the “best interests of the child” standard, how would you advise them?
  2.  The idea that an individual is “innocent until proven guilty” is sacred within the U.S. justice system. What are the virtues of building the strongest possible defense of an individual accused of criminal wrongdoing, even if you know or suspect that they are indeed guilty of the charges that have been levied against them?
  3. What inspires you to study law and what do you plan to do after pursuing your legally focused education?

Jon Friedman Law Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Accepted into a program at any U.S. school for Fall 2023
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • A headshot picture of the applicant (If selected as a winner, your image will be used when we announce on the site).
  • This scholarship application requires that students write an essay on a topic of their choice, related to an area of law that interests them. Essays should be between one and three pages in length.

Law Offices of Frank M. Nunes Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Pre-law undergraduate or a student entering law school, anywhere in the United States.
  • US Citizen or legal permanent resident

This scholarship application requires that students write an essay on a topic of their choice, related to a field of law that interests them. The length of the essay should be between one and three pages.

Dayspring Pens Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States or a holder of a valid student visa
  • Must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate and graduate program in an accredited US university or college

Garage Insiders Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States or Canada or hold a valid student visa
  • Must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Must be a student/enrollee of any of the following: architecture or engineering programs, majoring in interior & exterior designing and other related studies.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited university or college within the United States or Canada pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations Management.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours still to be completed
