ChemClub Student Scholarship Application

ELIGIBILITY

  • You must be a current high school senior, graduating in 2023 and planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college located in the United States, starting in Fall 2023.
  • You must be an active student member of a Chartered ChemClub Program (meaning that your Club is registered as an ACS ChemClub for the 2022-2023 school year.)
  • You must plan to pursue a major in a STEM field. This can include, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, material science, food science, forensic science, etc.

  • Complete the online application below by March 31, 2023.
  • Your ChemClub teacher advisor must complete and submit a recommendation form. This form will be automatically generated and sent to your advisor during the application process. *Note that you will be asked for the name and email address of your ChemClub teacher advisor. It’s a good idea to notify your ChemClub advisor about your intent to apply for this scholarship before you complete the application, so that they expect an email from us with completion instructions. The deadline for teacher-advisors to complete the recommendation form is April 10, 2023.
  • An electronic copy of your high school transcript (official or unofficial) must be sent to us directly by your school (this could be from a guidance counselor or school administrator).  You can ask the appropriate school official to send it to HSChemClubs@acs.org or if your high school uses an online transcript service to send official transcripts, it can be sent to the same email address. This must be received by April 10, 2023.

US Dairy Scholarship Program

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate student
  • Enrolled in program that emphasizes dairy

The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB), through Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), annually awards up to eleven $2,500 scholarships to eligible undergraduate students (rising sophomore through senior) enrolled in college/university programs that emphasize dairy. Majors include: communications/public relations, journalism, marketing, business, economics, nutrition, food science, and Ag education. In addition, the NDPRB awards a $3,500 James H. Loper Jr. Memorial Scholarship to the outstanding scholarship recipient.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, an interest in a career in a dairy-related discipline, and demonstrated leadership, initiative and integrity. Candidates are expected to fill out an online application, submit an official transcript of all college courses, and write a short statement describing their career aspirations, dairy-related activities and work experiences. The application information is evaluated by a NDPRB Scholarship Committee composed of an external review panel and at least two Board members. The recommendations of the Scholarship Committee are summarized by NDPRB staff and the scholarships are then awarded.

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Scholarships

Eligibility

  • Any undergraduate student or individual enrolled or accepted as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Anyone majoring in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality-related program
  • Anyone NOT related to any employees or family members of the National Restaurant Association, National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, or any State Restaurant Association

Each year, the NRAEF awards more than $1.2 million in scholarships to individuals pursuing a post-secondary degree in the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality industry.

National Grocers Association Foundation Scholarships

Eligibility

  • Scholarships are available to rising college freshman through postgraduate studies (must be enrolled at the time of disbursement to be considered)
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. or 4-year-degree-granting institution (including relevant postgraduate studies)
  • Majoring in Business, Food Management, Accounting, Human Resources, IT or other focuses leading to a career in grocery
  • Experience in the grocery industry is preferred but not required
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Must intend to pursue a career in independent grocery industry

The foundation administers 13 scholarships.  By completing one application, students will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.

  1. Create a profile
  2. Start an application to include demographic information and 3-4 personal statement essay questions. This can be saved at any point and edited at a later date prior to submission.
  3. Upload your Official or unofficial transcript
  4. Upload additional materials including, letter of recommendation(s), certificates, awards, etc.
  5. Save and submit your application once complete.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. ​

 

Clark E. DeHaven Scholarship

Eligibility

  • You must be enrolled in a college or university that is a member of NACUFS.
  • You must be enrolled full-time, be in good standing, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • You must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen and attend college in the U.S. or Canada during the scholarship award year.
  • You must be a current sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in a foodservice related field and are planning a career in the foodservice industry.
  • you must have at least one semester of school remaining, beginning fall semester 2022, before graduation.

The scholarship is intended for use during the traditional academic year (fall through spring) for academic purposes such as tuition, fees, room and board, or books. Scholarships will be awarded for full-time undergraduate study only.

Feeding Tomorrow Scholarships

Eligibility

The Feeding Tomorrow Fund of IFT offers a variety of academic tuition scholarships for freshman, undergraduate, and graduate students. IFT is committed to actively addressing barriers to access to education and science, especially for those who have been impacted the most by food inequity.

Idaho Milk Processors Association Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Students enrolled for Engineering, Agriculture, or Business majors with a desire to enter into the dairy industry.  Special consideration will be given to those interested in entering the Idaho dairy industry.

Application Process:

  • Fill out online application through the provide link.
  • Write an essay (250-400 words) on the following:
    • Describe why you decided to attend college, why you chose your major, why you are interested in pursuing a career in the Dairy Industry and what your goals are after you complete your education.

DR. ARTHUR A. KEZIAN DDS SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP 2020-2021

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be attending a College or University in the Fall of 2020
  • Must be a resident of the United States or Canada
  • Must complete the application form, including the essay prior to the deadline

How to Apply:

  • Write a 1–2 page essay on why you deserve the Dr. Arthur A. Kezian DDS Science Scholarship
  • Resume or CV
  • Official Transcript (GPA needs to be above 3.0)
  • SAT Score Report
  • DAT, GRE, or MCAT Score Report
  • 1 Minute Video Clip introducing yourself (optional but recommended)
  • Scholarship will open on: November 1, 2020
  • Scholarship deadline: March 31 , 2023 at 11:59 PM EST

AISES A.T. Anderson Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Any STEM related degree such as Mathematics, Medical Sciences, Physical Science, Technology, Science, Engineering, or Natural Resources.
  • Students must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited two-year or four-year college/university for the 2022-2023 academic year.
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • All scholarships require applicants be current AISES members at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be: an enrolled citizen or a decedent of an enrolled citizen of a federal or state recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village; or Native Hawaiian or decedent from a Native Hawaiian; or Pacific Islander or decedent from Pacific Islander; or Indigenous person of Canada. Enrollment documents and/or a copy of birth certificate(s) showing descendancy from an enrolled citizen, Indigenous group of Canada, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander are acceptable. Applicant may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card.

How to Apply:

  • Essays: Students are required to submit 3 essays, up to 500 words each.  These essays are an important part of the scholarship review process.
    • Essay Prompt 1: Please share a personal statement highlighting your background, academic achievements, and interests. Include information on courses taken and any honors or advanced placement courses. Talk about what motivates and challenges you intellectually and what impact you hope to have in your community and/or profession.
    • Essay Prompt 2: What stimulated your interest in your chosen major or area of study?
    • Essay Prompt 3:  What activity or activities (cultural, community-related, occupational, academic, athletic, etc.) most clearly reflect your character?  Please describe your participation. Why is participation in this activity or these activities important to you?

Scholarship Amount:

  •  $1,000 for the academic year for undergraduate students
  •  $2,000 for the academic year for graduate students

Rise Marketing STEM Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited University.
  • Must be majoring in a STEM field.

How to Apply:

  • Student must write a short essay about themselves.
  • Additionally the student must complete the online application found on the scholarships website.
