To be considered for these scholarship programs—and many more—complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by May 1 and apply for admissions by the priority deadline of May 1 (In order to be considered for top-scholars, apply by May 1).

WUE/Distinguished Cougar Award

$11,000

 

With the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Distinguished Cougar Award, an out-of-state student may receive an $11,000 award, renewable for an additional three years. Qualified students receive the award automatically, and are notified upon their offer of admission to WSU. No additional action or forms are required for consideration. This award is for students beginning Spring 2022 and after.

To receive the award, you must also:

  • Have an unweighted, high school grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.00.
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. outside the state of Washington.
  • Enter the Pullman campus as a first-time, first-year student.
  • Be charged non-resident tuition.

Terms and Conditions

WUE/Cougar Award for Transfers

$11,000

 

With the Transfer Western Undergraduate Exchange or WUE (here we call it the “WUE/Cougar Award for Transfers“), an out-of-state transfer student may receive an $11,000 award, renewable for an additional three years. Qualified students receive the award automatically, and are notified upon their offer of admission to WSU. No additional action or forms are required for consideration. This award is for students beginning Spring 2022 and after.

Awarded to admitted transfer students with 27+ transferable semester credit hours with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
If you don’t have 27 transferable semester credits, you must have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.4 AND a cumulative minimum transfer GPA of 3.0.
To receive the award, you must also:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Be a resident outside the state of Washington and charged non-resident tuition.
  • Enroll at the Pullman campus as a transfer student starting in 2022.
