To be considered for all available WSU scholarship opportunities, complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 and apply for admissions by March 31.
WSU General Scholarship Application
The yearly WSU General Scholarship Application enters you into consideration for multiple scholarships. Even if your grades aren’t perfect, apply! Many scholarships consider academic interests, financial need, community service, leadership, campus involvement and more!

WSU Crimson Award
$500 – $4,000 Per Year
Two or Four-Year Award
Eligibility:
- First Time Incoming, First-Year Student
- Undergraduate, Degree-seeking
- 12 Credits Per Semester
- Non-Washington State Resident
- 3.75 – 4.0 Unweighted High School GPA
Tiers:
- 0.0 – 2.99 GPA: $500 per Year
- 3.0 – 3.29 GPA: $2,000 per Year
- 3.3 – 3.74 GPA: $3,000 per Year
- 3.75 – 4.0 GPA: $4,000 per Year
Regents Scholars
$4,000 – Full Tuition
Four-Year Award
The Top Scholars award is available to transfer and first-year incoming students on the Pullman campus. Students must be nominated by their high school and meet additional Regents application deadlines. WSU considers and academic achievement, community involvement and academic references when selecting Regents Scholars.
Deadlines:
- October 1: Nominations open
- October 31: Counselor nomination deadline
- December 1: Student application deadline
- Mid-January: Award winners notified
Crimson Award
The Crimson Transfer Award
$2,000 per Year
Three-Year Award
The Crimson Transfer Award is available to both in-state and out-of-state students transferring into an undergraduate degree program on the Pullman campus. The Crimson Transfer Award cannot be combined with any other recruitment award. For questions about eligibility, please contact future.coug@wsu.edu.
Crimson Transfer Eligibility:
- First time incoming, undergraduate student
- Degree-seeking program
- If transferring with 27 semester credits (40 quarter credits) or more: 3.2 unweighted GPA
- If transferring with fewer than 27 semester credits: 3.4 unweighted high school GPA and minimum 3.2 cumulative transfer GPA
- Pullman campus
- 12 credits per semester
Additional Awards
These awards are available to both resident and non-resident students.
National Merit Scholarship
Full Tuition Waiver
Four-Year Award
You’re eligible for a National Merit Scholarship if you’re identified as a semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and you are admitted to WSU Pullman immediately after high school graduation.
The National Merit Scholarship cannot be combined with any other WSU tuition waivers or admissions awards. Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and transfer students are not eligible.
Glenn Terrell Presidential Award
$4,000 per Year
Four-Year Award
Selection is competitive based on academic strength and submission of the WSU General Scholarship Application.
Eligibility:
- Completed Admissions Materials by May 1
- Completed WSU General Scholarship Application by May 1
Top Scholars
$500 – $2,000 per Year
The Top Scholars award is available to transfer and first-year incoming students on the Pullman campus. Students must have a 3.6 high school GPA or a 3.4 transfer GPA. The award amount varies by residency and other conditions. Top Scholars can be combined with other tuition waivers only if the total award does not exceed charged tuition.
All-Washington Academic Team
$2,000 One-Time Award
Each year, WSU will award scholarships to 10 current year All-Washington Academic Team members who transfer to any of the university’s campuses. If more than 10 team members enroll at WSU, the university will determine who receives the scholarships.

WSU Faculty/Staff Dependent Scholarship
- $1,000 per Year
- Two-Year Award
- Parent Must Be Qualifying WSU Employee
- Student Must be 25 Years Old or Younger
- Requires General Scholarship Application
WSU Foundation Scholarship
- Award Amount Varies
- One-Time Award
- Determined by the General Scholarship Application
R.H. and Jane Logan Scholarship
- 3.0 GPA
- Financial Need as Determined by the FAFSA/WASFA
- Students Must be Future Educators
- Requires General Scholarship Application
