WSU Cougs for Recovery (CfR) Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Residents and non-residents (international students must confirm their eligibility for scholarships with the Office of International Programs).
  • Currently enrolled for Spring 2024 semester at Washington State University (All campuses, including Global) as a student in good standing.
    • Pullman/Spokane/Vancouver/Everett/Tri-Cities: Minimum 10 credit hours for undergraduates, 8 credit hours for graduate.
    • Global: Minimum 6 credit hours for undergraduate, 3 credits for graduate
  • At least 2 months of continuous recovery from addictive and/or compulsive behaviors OR an ally with personal and family history or addictive and/or compulsive behaviors
  • Must have minimum 2.8 grade point average, as per submitted unofficial transcript.
  • Student in recovery (self-described): At least 2 months of continuous recovery from substance misuse or substance use disorder and/or behavioral or process addiction disorder.
  • Student Ally (self-described):  Significant personal and/or family history involving alcohol and substance misuse or alcohol and substance use disorder or behavioral or process addiction issues.

  • Complete this C4R scholarship application form.
  • One letter of support regarding the applicant’s commitment to recovery and academic success
  • Unofficial transcript with GPA
    • WSU student applicants enrolled prior to Spring 2024:  Unofficial WSU transcript
    • First-year and transfer student applicants: Submit a high school, 2 year college, or 4-year college/university unofficial transcript with GPA.
  • Two to three (2 to 3) page application essay:
    • Describe how you (the applicant) will meet the scholarship criteria
    • Describe how your recovery supports your academic commitment and success.
    • If you are an ally to those in recovery, describe how you support people in recovery in their academic commitment and success.
  • Deadline is February 19th at 5:00 PM
