Federal Grants and Loan Limits

You received a notice from our office regarding being at or near lifetime limits for federal Pell Grant and/or federal loans. Due to being near these lifetime limits, we’ll have to manually review your account. Once your account has been reviewed, we will send you an email and you’ll be able to view your financial aid offer on your myWSU account. We appreciate your patience during this time and are working diligently to get these processed as soon as possible.

Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduates to promote access to post secondary education. For many WSU students, the Pell Grant is the cornerstone of their financial aid award.

Eligibility

Pell Grant is available to you if you’re pursuing your first undergraduate degree and if you’re not enrolled in a professional program. You will not be considered for this funding source if you hold a bachelor’s degree. The amount of Pell Grant you may receive over your lifetime is limited by federal law to be equivalent to 6 years (12 full-time semesters) of Pell Grant funding. This is called the Federal Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU).
