AISES Intel Growing The Legacy Scholarship Program

Eligibility:

  • Must be majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Considerations may be made for students pursuing Chemical Engineering, Material Science, and Physics.
  • Students must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university, and be pursuing a bachelors, masters, or doctoral degree.
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • All scholarships require that applicants be current AISES members at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be: an enrolled citizen or a decedent of an enrolled citizen of a federal or state recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native Village; or Native Hawaiian or decedent from a Native Hawaiian; or Pacific Islander or decedent from Pacific Islander; or Indigenous person of Canada. Enrollment documents and/or a copy of birth certificate(s) showing descendancy from an enrolled citizen, Indigenous group of Canada, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander are acceptable. Applicant may also, instead, provide a copy of their Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood or Certificate of Degree of Alaska Native Blood (CDIB) card.

How to Apply:

  • Essays: Students are required to submit 2 essays, up to 300 words each. These essays are an important part of the scholarship review process.
    • Essay Prompt 1: Technical Skills: Describe your technical skills (i.e. Hardware, Software, etc.) and associated work, research and/or project experiences that would be relevant in sharing with a technical company.
    • Essay Prompt 2: Leadership Skills: Describe your leadership skills and/or experience(s)?
    • Insights Question 1: Give an example of how you worked effectively on a challenging situation, while dealing with ambiguity, tight deadlines under pressure, etc.
    • Insights Question 2: Give an example of a goal you reached and the key milestones that helped you achieve it.
    • Insights Question 3: Give an example of how you worked on a team where everyone had different options of how to solve a problem.

Scholarship Amount:

  • $10,000 per academic year for Graduate students (Masters and Doctoral students)
  • $5,000 per academic year for Undergraduate students (College sophomores, juniors, and seniors)
  • $5,000 per academic year for Native Next Generation students (College freshman)

Carson College of Business Accounting Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate or graduate student
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Minimum 5 credits per semester
  • Major in Accounting
  • Minimum of one semester remaining before graduation
  • WSU Vancouver student
  • Not a recipient of State waiver tuition program

Perkins and Company, PC Accounting Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate student with Accounting major or MBA student with Accounting track
  • Minimum GPA 3.0

  • Not a recipient of state waiver tuition program

Opsahl Dawson Accounting Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Minimum of 5 credits per semester
  • Minimum of 1 remaining semester to graduate

  • Undergraduate with a major in Accounting or MBA student in Accounting
  • Not at receipent of state waiver tuition program

Phi Kappa Phi Fellowships

Eligibility

  • You must be an active member of Phi Kappa Phi or have accepted membership by June 30 of the year in which you are applying.
  • You must also have applied to enroll as a full-time student in a graduate/professional school program to begin May 1, 2023 and February 1, 2024.
  • You have not/will not have completed more than 9 hours of semester credits of graduate study in any field at application deadline.
  • Not be a sitting Phi Kappa Phi board member, divisional vice president, member of the Fellowship Award committee or Society employee at the time of application or announcement.

Pride Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington but may study elsewhere. Applicants are considered a resident of one of these states if they:
    • currently live within that state and have done so for at least 3 months prior to the application date; OR
    • have lived within that state for at least one year at any time within the five years prior to the application deadline
  • Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education. This includes community college, four-year public or private college or university, certificate programs, vocational/technical/trade programs, law school, medical/dental/veterinary school, or graduate education.
  • Show leadership potential either within the LGBTQ community or within their field of study
  • Lack a broader LGBTQ community support system
  • Face additional barriers to educational access, including students who are economically, racially, socially, geographically, or politically disenfranchised
  • Demonstrate significant financial need
