Health Information and Management Systems Society Scholarships

Eligibility

  1. Be a Washington State resident
  2. Be enrolled in a Washington State institute of higher education with focus on healthcare science, health care technology and/or healthcare public policy.
  3. Complete web application and essays.
  4. Provide a letter of reference from an Academic Advisor or Professional Manager
  5. Be an active HIMSS WA member and show participation/registered for at least two events during 2022-2023.

More Details

  • Applicants must be enrolled as part-time or full-time students in an accredited certificate, micro pathways in health information technology programs, Undergraduate (junior or senior level), Masters, or PhD program in the State of Washington at the time of the scholarship application deadline.
  • Applicants must have at least one full academic year remaining in their program of study; or, if enrolled in an accredited certification program, at least one full academic term remaining in their program, as of the scholarship application deadline.
  • Applicants who are graduating or will graduate before the scholarship program’s start date are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates should be pursuing a degree relating to healthcare technology. Typical degrees may include healthcare administration, public health, healthcare information management, public policy, health/ clinical informatics, patient-centered technologies, computer science/information systems, and engineering.
  • Students must complete an application outlining their scholastic and professional achievements, leadership, and communication skills, HIMSS experience, and activities which demonstrate their commitment to healthcare science, technology, business and public policy.
  • Previous scholarship winners are ineligible.
