Yakama Nation Scholarship

Eligibility

  1. Must be an enrolled member of Yakama Nation.
  2. Must be a high school graduate or have earned a GED Diploma or be enrolled in a Pre-College program (Bridge, Running Start, New Horizons, etc)
  3. Must be admitted to a regionally accredited college or university
  4. Must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov and have applied for all federal, state, and institutional aid including work-study.
  5. Meet the minimum Cumulative GPA for the following
    1. College Freshman/Sophomore/Juniors/Seniors 2.0 GPA
    2. Graduate/Doctoral/Professional 3.0 GPA
  6. Applicants must be full-time students to be eligible for Bureau of Indian Affairs Higher Education Grant

More Details

Yakama Nation Higher Education awards scholarships and grants to students enrolled with the 14 Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. Students must be pursuing a college degree at a regionally accredited institution.

Deadlines for Application Set By Yakama Tribal Council Resolution T-111-13

  • Fall 2023 Yakama Nation Scholarship (HIGH SCHOOL PRIORITY DEADLINE MAY 1)
  • 2022-2023 Application Deadline – FEBRUARY 1 –  for students seeking scholarships for WINTER 2023 TO SPRING 2023.
  • Pre-College (Running Start, Bridge, New Horizons, College in the High School, Gear Up, Trio) – rolling deadline – apply at least two weeks before you start your classes

If you miss the deadline, your application will be rolled to the following application deadline.
