2020 Golen Engine Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be a US citizen who is accepted or attending a college or university within the United States. The winner will be required to provide proof of acceptance to your college or university or college transcript.
  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree.

Deadline:

Applications must be submitted via the web form by November 30, 2020.

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship- Baccalaureate Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • RESIDENCY
    • Be a Washington state resident as defined by state Legislature (RCW 28B.15.012).
    • Earn a high school diploma or GED from a Washington state institution by June of the year of application.
  • FINANCIAL NEED
  • ACADEMIC RECORD
    • A cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of application date of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale), demonstrated on either a current college or high school transcript; OR
    • A passing GED score, demonstrated on an official score report.
  • ENROLLMENT PLAN
    • Plan to pursue an eligible science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or health care major as defined on the eligible majors list.
    • Plan to enroll at an eligible Washington state institution for the fall term following selection as defined on the list of eligible college and universities.
    • Plan to enroll at least half-time (six or more credits) every term. Scholars are not expected to enroll in nor does WSOS fund summer term.
  • PREVIOUS EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
    • Do not yet have a bachelor’s degree.
    • Applicant must currently be a:
      • High school senior or graduate (high school equivalency)
      • College freshman or college sophomore. If the applicant has completed any college terms or college credits post high-school, they must meet either the maximum term OR maximum credit requirement stated below:
        1. Maximum Terms Completed: The applicant must have completed no more than six quarters or four semesters of college at the end of the current academic year; OR
        2. Maximum Credits Earned: The applicant must have earned no more than 90 quarter or 60 semester credits at the end of the current academic year

Application Process

Interested applicants must complete the entire application process. Applicants must:

  1. Complete all application sections via the Scholarship Application Portal and click “Submit” by the application deadline.
  2. Mail a copy of your transcript or GED scores to WSOS c/o Baccalaureate Scholarship at this address: 1414 31st Ave S., Suite 302, Seattle, WA 98144.
  3. Submit the FAFSA or WASFA for the relevant academic year by the deadline on the application timeline.

The application will require approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Applicants may start the application, save progress and return to complete it later up until the application deadline. Applicants should know what college they expect to attend and what major they intend to complete before beginning their application.

Rise Marketing STEM Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be an undergraduate or postgraduate student at an accredited University.
  • Must be majoring in a STEM field.

How to Apply:

  • Student must write a short essay about themselves.
  • Additionally the student must complete the online application found on the scholarships website.

 

STEM Lights Me Up Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be a full-time or part-time student at an accredited University or be a high school student during the 2019-2020 school year.
  • Must be or planning to be majoring in a STEM field.

How to Apply:

  • Write a 1,000 word essay of the following question:
    • “What lights you up about STEM?”
  • Then make sure to visit the scholarship website and fill out the online application.

Outeraudio’s Love of Audio Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a undergraduate or postgraduate at accredited University.
  • Must have a major in the following faculties:
    • Engineering
    • Technology
    • Design
    • Medicine
    • Sciences
    • Conservation/ Environmental Studies

How to Apply:

  • Write a 700+ word article covering one of the following topics:
    • How the front-end (functional) design of audio devices have changed over the last decade
    • How the back-end (technical) design of audio devices have changed over the last decade
    • What advances we should expect in audio devices over the next decade
    • How wireless technologies are affecting the use of audio devices
    • How audio devices are used in a growing outdoor lifestyle movement
    • How brands are marketing their audio devices in a crowded marketplace
    • How audio devices are used in medical technology for hearing assistance
  • Make sure to fill out the online application found on the scholarships website.

C and G Treat Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Must complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 prior to the start of the academic year. There is no additional application process.
  • First preference shall be given to students intending to major or majoring in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Architecture who meet the following criteria.
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Overcame or currently overcoming major adversity
  • Demonstrated financial need

Frank Wiggins Candee Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Must complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 prior to the start of the academic year. There is no additional application process.
  • Enrolled in WSU’s College of Engineering and Mineral Technology, with preference to those majoring in mechanical engineering, all other factors being equal.
  • Other considerations in selecting the recipient shall be scholarship, proven intellectual ability in the major area, character, financial need, activities, and potential for growth and development.

Cash for Cars and College 2018

Eligibility

  • Must be female.
  • Must be pursuing a degree or certification in automotive technology (mechanics, auto body, engineers, etc) in the Fall of 2018.

How to Apply

  • Write a minimum 500 word essay telling us how you became interested in automotive technology, what your career goals and ambitions are, and why you feel you’re the best qualified for this scholarship.

BigRentz Engineering Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Currently be pursuing, or plan to pursue, an engineering degree with a discipline related to design, construction, or operation of machinery or structures (e.g., civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, agricultural engineering, industrial engineering, transportation engineering).
  • You may be a senior in high school, an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate student to be eligible.

How to Apply

  • Write an essay (between 750 and 1,500 words) on the following topic:
    • The future of engineering: How do you see technology changing or impacting your specific discipline of engineering over the next 5+ years? What excites you most about these changes? What challenges (if any) will this create?
  • Complete the student questionnaire.

Betty and Glenn Tribe Scholarship

Eligibility

  • Must be a graduating senior from a high school in the Battle Ground or Ridgefield school district OR be a current student at Clark College or Washington State University.
  • Must continue their education at Clark College or Washington State University during the upcoming school year
  • Must pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree
