The Bursar’s office offers Payment Plans to assist with paying the remaining balance due after your fall financial aid has completely posted. The payment plan will open on August 14 via your Student payment Portal. For more information about this payment plan, please visit the Bursar’s office webpage.
Fall Semester
Charges Begin Posting
Mid-to-late-July
Registered students will begin seeing charges posted for:
- Tuition
- Mandatory Fees
- Housing and Food
- Applies to Residence Halls and University Owned Apartments.
Financial Aid Begins Posting
One Week Prior to the First Day of Classes
Grants, scholarships, waivers and accepted loans will begin disbursing. If you accepted loans, make sure to:
- Complete Entrance Counseling
- Sign Master Promissory Note

Refunds Begin Sending
One Week Prior to the First Day of Classes
Once financial aid has paid off your due charges, any remaining aid will be sent to you as a refund. Check your address for a check in the mail. Keep in mind, not every student will get a refund. For the fastest way to receive a refund, enroll in Direct Deposit.

- 3% Late Fee: 3rd Week
- 5% Late Fee: 5th Week
- 7% Late Fee: 7th Week

On this day, WSU will take a “snapshot” of your enrollment for the semester. This snapshot determines what financial aid (loans and grants) you will receive for the term.
Finalize your class schedule before Census!
Apply for the upcoming FAFSA/WASFA
October 1
FAFSA and WASFA applications open for the 2025-2026 school year. The priority deadline for current students is: November 30
Spring Semester

Submit Verification Documents
February 15
This date is WSU’s priority deadline for students that have been selected for the Financial Aid Verification process. To remain eligible for all federal, state and institutional grants, students must submit all the additional information that has been requested by this date.
April 15
For the 2024-2025 school year, because the financial aid applications won’t be available until sometime in December, our office has updated the priority deadline to reflect this change.
