At Nectar Bath Treats, we’re a firm believer that self care plays a large role in our mental health. With depression and anxiety rates growing every year, we understand that boosting our collective mental health can dramatically improve our society as a whole.
That’s why we have created a scholarship for highschool and college students across the United States. We’re committed to helping students in the field of psychology or social services by offering a $1,000 scholarship to help continue on the path to helping others struggling with mental health issues.
The deadline to apply is March 15th 2023.
Winner of the $1,000 scholarship will be announced on March 31, 2023 after all submissions have been reviewed by our team.
Reside in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington.
Be a member or descendent of a federally recognized, state recognized, or terminated American Indian tribe; or Alaska Native village, council, or corporation; or Native Hawaiian; or identify as a Pacific Islander from a U.S.-affiliated Pacific Island jurisdiction (specifically, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, or Palau).
Be accepted to or enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program (by fall term) in an accredited, public, or private, nonprofit institution of higher education in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington and maintain a course load that ensures graduate degree completion on time (within three years for a master’s degree).
Pursue a field of study in education, education policy, leadership, technical assistance, research, or a closely related field.
Have graduated from a four-year, regionally accredited institution of higher learning (before fall term).
Complete an essay that answers the questions:
Why am I pursuing an advanced degree in the field of education, education policy, leadership, technical assistance, research, or closely related field?
What are my post-graduation goals?
How have I and will I contribute to strengthening my own community and/or rural or Native communities as a whole?
Submit three letters of recommendation (excluding letters from immediate family members), with at least one from a community member who can attest to the candidate’s Native heritage and his/her commitment to the designated course of study and to serving rural and/or Native communities after attainment of the master’s degree.
Begin school as a full- or part-time student no later than the fall semester immediately following the award.

Application Procedures
Applications for the Steven R. Nelson Native Educator Scholarship can be submitted until March 31. No applications will be considered after the deadline.
Recipients will be notified of conditional awards no later than June 30 for study beginning the following fall term. Final awards will be made directly to the institution of higher education once an awardee has provided proof of acceptance and/or registration in an institution that meets the scholarship program requirements.
The scholarship program will be administered at the sole discretion of Education Northwest. Award funds will be deposited in the financial aid office of the institution attended by the recipient.
Education Northwest reserves the right to change or discontinue the Steven R. Nelson Native Educator Scholarship Program at any time and without notice.
Procedure for Continuing Awards
To maintain eligibility, a scholarship recipient must meet the following standards:
Maintain good academic standing
Demonstrate substantial progress toward the fulfillment of the graduate degree requirements
Fulfill all program reporting requirements
Maintain enrollment status during the academic year
Apply each year to request continued scholarship support until graduation (not to exceed three years)
Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional program. This includes accredited community college students as well as high school seniors and students who possess a GED and who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited program.
The scholarship applicant should demonstrate a strong interest in the legal industry, journalism, and/or supporting free speech.
All eligible candidates must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above.

Each semester, our criminal defense firm offers college students the opportunity to be awarded $1,000 through the Magaña & Van Dyke Dominick Marsala Memorial Scholarship. Our team understands how difficult it can be to pursue personal interests outside of school and work, and we believe it is incredibly valuable to maintain such hobbies throughout your life, despite challenging transitions and busy schedules. Through the Magaña & Van Dyke Dominick Marsala Memorial Scholarship, our firm works to provide students with financial assistance to help them pursue their goals and passions.
Student has a minimum grade point average of 3.0
Student is enrolled an accredited college or university for the Fall 2024 semester
Student is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Student is a permanent resident or citizen of the United States
What Are the Application Requirements?
To be considered for the Magaña & Van Dyke Dominick Marsala Memorial Scholarship, students must submit a video of 3 minutes or less answering the following prompt: Making time for hobbies can greatly benefit a person and ensure that they are focused on what is important to them. What would you consider to be your lifelong hobby?
How have you maintained this hobby throughout your life, and how do you plan to continue to make time for it while also pursuing a higher education, working, and/or focusing on other priorities? How has this hobby helped you to excel in other areas of your life?
Additionally, applications must include the student’s contact information, proof of enrollment, and proof of GPA.
All study areas and GPAs will be taken into consideration.
Candidates for scholarships must either be in their senior year of high school or enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an institution of higher learning with a US location.

Scholarship is awarded twice a year. Deadlines are September 30 and March 1.
The Value of each scholarship will be $500 for high school senior and $1000 for Graduate or College Student. The Formuland Mighty Star Scholarships will be given to the applicant directly, or to the applicant’s legal guardian if the candidate is under 18 years old.

The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: discuss a time when you had to put the health of another or a loved one first, whether they were suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, or were at a time in their life where they just needed more help and support. Discuss your experience with helping someone else, what life lessons were gained and how has it changed your outlook on life?
The candidate must submit a resumé that lists their up-to-date contact information and experiences, both professional and academic.
The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students or returning students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
The recipient of the Care Throughout the Ages Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
