Note: There are two separate scholarships. One for Undergraduate Students, the other for Graduate Students.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be Jewish
Minimum age 16
Permanent and legal resident of Los Angeles County for a minimum of three years
U.S. citizen or documented legal permanent U.S. resident with a Green Card
Planning to attend an accredited public or private college, university or vocational school in the U.S.
Planning to enroll as a full-time student with a minimum of 12 units per term
Minimum 2.7 GPA (per term) for Undergraduate Students
Minimum 3.0 GPA (per term) for Graduate Students
Demonstrated and verifiable financial need including FAFSA (Student aid report)
Completed application and all supplemental materials, including official transcript and letter of recommendation, must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2020. A complete list of required supplemental materials is available online. Any supplemental materials postmarked after March 31, 2020 will NOT be considered.
Must complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 prior to the start of the academic year. There is no additional application process.
Graduate student
Considerations include quality of student work as evidenced by grades made in regular studies, community or extracurricular leadership activities, and financial need.
Applicant must be an enrolled member or descendant of one of the following tribes: Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Colville Confederated Tribes, The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Kalispel Tribe, Klamath Tribe, Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, Nez Perce Tribe, Spokane Tribe of Indians, Yakama Indian Nation; OR show proof of ancestry from a tribe or tribes known as Plateau Salishan, Sahaptian, or Kootenai. Members of the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs and of the Cowlitz Tribe who are of Sahaptian speaking descent are also eligible to apply with documentation verifying their Sahaptian ancestry.
High school applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
Transfer and current undergraduate WSU student applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Graduate student applicants must have been accepted to graduate school. Current graduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Undergraduate recipient must enroll for a minimum of six credit hours per semester (five credit hours per semester if graduate student).
Financial need, academic performance, and essay statement will determine selection. Preference given to students who are pursuing undergraduate degrees and to students pursuing a field of study within the College of Arts and Science.
